This is a true story, and I appreciate how this book is so well-written, given that the author wrote from raw feelings, intense pain, and does not have a background in professional writing. Sandra honestly conveys the depth of love for, and the magnitude of searing pain caused by the tragic murder of, her daughter, Lindsay. The fear, anxiety, heartbreak, confusion, guilt, and anger are palpable in her words. Reading of Sandra's long and painful journey through the stages of grief takes the reader on quite an emotional ride. I felt each feeling Sandra experiences through her description of events and the passage of time. It's truly remarkable the strength of human spirit, and nowhere is it more evident than in witnessing a parent's loss of a child, by any means. Murder, and particularly by the hands of a loved one, couldn't be more horrific. In the end, I feel such wonder at how Sandra was able to come out on the other side, by helping other people suffering from loss, depression, and trauma. Bravo, Sweet Sandra. This should never have happened. True story that was very hard and terrifying with her exact details some of which were over 40 or more years ago. This book is for anyone who has lost someone they loved and the road to getting their life back in order.
Very emotional book, never knew what my friends had to go through in the Navy. My self being in the Navy. The stress of being a single parent and working long hours . I do remember your beautiful Lindsay-and my daughter playing together as baby's,. Your wonderful person and I am so glad you wrote this book. I highly recommend this to my sister and my brother which both lost their young daughters in hope they one day will find piece also. Thank you , Sandra (Chief)

This lady is one of the bravest and truly amazing people in the world. I have known Sandy for many many years and never failed to admire her strength and courage. I know what Lindsey meant to her and just how much pain she is in. The book is an amazing account of a mothers love and strength. I recommend anyone suffering from a terrible loss to read this book. My heart and love will always be there for my friend, mentor and fellow sailor. Please please read her book and keep her in your prayers --- Jim
Insanity or Murder is the true story of Sandra Hisaw's heart-breaking loss of her child, her partner, her home, and her sense of security in the military. The horror she lived through would be almost unbelievable if I did not know the author to be a person of integrity. Knowing her made the reading of this all the more painful given the first-person accounting. I am in awe of the author's strength and acutely aware that her daughter's spirit guided her as she wrote. I am grateful to have witnessed their love and deeply saddened to learn of their suffering. The book leaves questions unanswered about the murderer, but in the end her story is not what's important... the only thing that matters is that Sandra and Lindsay continue their bond even now.
[The English major in me had to eliminate one star simply because, in my opinion, the book would have greatly benefited from a more thorough edit. I recognize that the author had a personal publishing deadline she wished to meet. I respect her decision. I also believe that the book would have been even more powerful had she been able to turn the manuscript over to a professional. Overall, though, a tremendous success!]
I encourage anyone that has suffered the loss of a child to read this book. The author poured her heart and soul into writing this book and sharing her story about her daughter, Lindsay's death. Sandra went through a living hell, yet found the strength and courage to put her memories in a book to share with the world.
Life hasn't dealt Sandra a good hand, but think it is safe to say that Lindsay is not only watching over her Mother, but the very reason she is still with us today trying her best to help others. Sandra holds the cards now!!! Will be looking for her next book to come out.
