This book was pretty good. The one thing that bothered me the most is the grammar in this book is poorly written. Its hard to read a book that has never been proof read. It had a good story line. I really like the love triangle stories, but I didn't get a good feel on the two characters. You really liked Drake at the beginning then half way through it, you hate the douche. I hate that everytime one of them looked at each other they were instantly inlove. Then when Robin and Elliot made love, she's crying the whole time? I didn't like this at all. I could see if it was after, but during? That's just a huge mood killer.Product details

If I Can't Have You eBook Lauren Hammond Reviews
I bought this book not expecting to love it as much as I did. It was a very hot read for a YA and I was completely enthralled by the story.
Robin has wanted Drake for years after he rescued her from drowning in the ocean on her family vacation when she was a young teen. Drake, a sexy local lifeguard, never showed much interest other than friendship. Robin comes back to Paradise a curvy beautiful 18-year old woman and catches not only Drake's attention, but his brother, Elliot's, as well. Robin is torn between her feelings for the sexy bad boy Drake and her budding attraction to his sweet and sexy brother. She gets the shock of her life and her heart broken. Suddenly, she is faced with two jealous, possessive, beautiful men fighting over her. (sigh) After spending time with and falling for both men, she must follow her heart and make a choice between them.
WARNING Make sure you have time set aside for reading because this completely addicting, steamy story will keep you captivated until the very last sentence.
This book starts off really good but then it slows down a bit towards the end. Drake, Robin and Elliot find themselves in a love triangle. Elliot and Drake are brothers. Drake saves Robin from drowning and she becomes obsessed with him. Drake has a girlfriend at the time but she sees Drake every summer after that. He always calls her kid since she's younger than him.
Robin puts Drake on a pedestal and she's debased when he's not what she thought he was. Her emotions are all over the place. First she's in love with Drake then she falls for Elliot when Drake turns out to not be as perfect as she thought he was. There are times you want to scream or smack Robin around so she can get it together.
Elliot is funny, sweet and falls for Robin after they first meet. He and his brother have issues that arise after they both realist they are in love with the same girl. Only difference is that Drake wants to hook up with girls after he breaks up with his girlfriend. He wants the freedom to see whoever he wants. He tells that to Robin but somehow she thinks once they get together he's going to be exclusive with her. Robin's best friend Whit only wants the best for Robin and wants to protect her. She's been in Robin's shoes so she doesn't want her to get hurt like she did.
Don't recommend this to anyone under the age of sixteen. I recommend it to older teens and adults.
Robin has spent her life her life dreaming up a fantasy that she may just find falling at her feet. Her family has been vacationing at the same beach house for as long as she can remember. After her near drowning experience, when she was fifteen, she has spent every summer wishing for the one thing that was just out of her reach. That one thing just happens to be her knight in shining armor and lifeguard rescuer. Drake is always at the forefront of Robin's mind. She looks forward to the chance summer encounters with the hopes that one year he will notice her as more than the "kid", that he has nicknamed her since her near drowning. The summer following her senior year she is right back at the same beach house with the same dreams. Only when she runs into the gorgeous and heart stopping Drake; she notices immediately that he no longer looks at her like the "kid", and from that point on her fantasies begin to form her reality. The only problem is that she also finds that her chance encounter a few weeks earlier while college visiting is none other than Drake brother Eliot. As the story begins building it is obvious that Robin's perfected dream was much better than reality. When Drake proves less than perfect, Robin will have to learn to let go of her fantasies, and accept reality. Or is she looking in the wrong direction.
This was a great story about watching a young girl become a woman. It was relatable, and easy to feel your way through the story. The emotional rollercoaster will catapult readers through with little to no effort. I recommend this read for young adults, and adult that enjoy a good romance.
Okay so when I first got this book i was excited. Then i started reading it and i thought it would get better in the end, but it didn't. By the end i was very annoyed with every character. There where parts that were just unnecessary, and parts where i would just get confused because the main character-Robin-would go off on a tangent that was impossible to come back from. The girl in this book should be in no kind of relationship i mean in a good three day time period she was on Youtube dancing on a table drunk in her underwear, cheated on by some douchebag who she said she love but didn't even know, and cussed out by her best friend. Then at the end she acts like she gets all of what love means and is, and talks about it like she is some sort of guru when in reality she is a shallow annoying girl and she had sex with this dude after knowing him for seven days. This book was awful and I truthfully wish i had spent my good earned $2.99 on a different book. Try harder next time Hammond.
This book was a breath of fresh air. I absolutely loved Robin's best friend, Whitney. Whitney was so genuinely sweet and concerned about Robin and I think that's rare in a friendship. This book ended exactly the way I wanted it to I just wish it had been longer or we would have had a glimpse into the future. There wasn't as much character development as I would have liked to have seen but the story was so good that it wasn't that big of a deal. I would definitely read this again and recommend it to others.
This book was pretty good. The one thing that bothered me the most is the grammar in this book is poorly written. Its hard to read a book that has never been proof read. It had a good story line.
