I really enjoyed this story which had your brave young lady but seemed to be naughty and your very alpha males.This was a very descriptive well details story with some suspense, spanking and sex. What else do you need for a very interesting and fun read.

Loved the book
I thought the book was very good. There are times within it that you just scratch you head and wonder if someone else inserted parts though initially the first sexual scene, it seemed far below the writing standard I'm used to reading in Ms Carpenters books. It was almost like girls getting together back in the 60s trying to tell about a love scene when they know nothing about sex. The other scenes were awesome though. Enjoyed the plot as it was different, and enjoyed the character building although it could have been deeper. Refreshing that the heroine had a brain, and a little bit of rebellion. Enjoyed it overall as a quick read.
Loved the setting and the visuals of the spankings were hot, just wish the descriptions of the barbarian masters superbly muscular physique were more detailed.
This is a fun and easy book to read. I finished it in one day. I loved all the characters, well there were a couple in the last half that weren't the best people, but they ended up together which helped with the Happy Ending. I loved Maggie's description of the characters, all of them the parents along with Serenity and Killian. Also the details of the Clans, Village people and where and how they lived.
My favorite parts Bastian told Killian to 'settle', demonstrate his maturity. Loved that Serenity couldn't get Killian out of her thoughts. She just needs to see him again after first meeting. She was sure things would never be normal for her again. The Barbarian's, Bastian, said "We are men of our word". Love that about a man!! When Killian first meets Serenity he tells her, "You are a confounding woman". Serenity, part of her ached to call him Master again, wondering how it would feel to have his hands roam across her body.
Exciting from the very beginning as it takes off like a rocket! This is the love story of the village girl Serenity and the Barbarian, Killian. The castle and area claimed by the Barbarians is off limits to the people of the nearby village who are skilled iron workers and supply the Barbarians with swords, knives and other weapons. They do this in exchange for fruits and vegetables that the Barbarians grow in abundance where the villagers seem to be unable to. However, until Serenity makes them aware, the Barbarians do not know that the villagers do not have enough food to go around. Serenity's second mistake was relaying this news to the leader of the Barbarians in a most disrespectful manner which was witnessed by his son, Killian. Her first mistake was trying to stop the leader from spanking her friend Layla, who was sprawled across his knees, for stealing fruit from the forbidden area. Killian took Serenity to his bed chamber and gave her a very hard spanking that had a very pleasant ending. This captivating story includes a scheming wench, a traitor, a brother who is a genius, a loving family, steamy romance, and quite possibly a very hot end. Pun intended. Enjoy from the edge of your seat, as I did. Thanks for another one, Maggie!

Storyline fizzled early & was generic. Needs more depth of characters. The story has much potential. I liked the characters based on the little personality quirks I got to know through out the book.
